AHMEDABAD: Indian Railway has decided to stop train movement from September 15 on the meter gauge Sabarmati-Botad and Sabarmati-Ranuja tracks for gauge conversion work. The tracks were approved for conversion in 2007 and later railway minister Mamata Banerjee had ordered a survey in 2010. The conversion will help cut travel time to Bhavnagar. "It is possible that trains starting from Porbandar would also run on the new Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar track via Botad. Currently, these trains take the Jamnagar-Rajkot-Viramgam route for Ahmedabad," said a railway official. Four to five mail and express trains are likely... more...

There were 2 MG intercity trains between ADI & Bhavnagar via Botad, i.e. Shetrunji Exp and its complementary express which have been discontinued as part of the route (Botad-Bhavnagar has been converted in to BG long back). The two trains shaould be introduced after guage conversion of ADI-Botad MG section.
