envisioned railway line is slated to commence from Gudivada Railway Junction, passing through Nuzvid Railway Station and Nuzvid Town, covering key areas like Surepalli, Somavaram, Visannapet, and concluding at Madhira in Khammam District.

Members of the committee, including GSK Appa Rao, Chatrathi Ramakrishna, G Hanumantha Rao, and Lokala Umamaheswara Rao, have presented the proposal to the South Central Railway (SCR) authorities in Secunderabad, along with MPs GL Narasimha Rao and Kotagiri Sridhar, who expressed their support and commitment to the initiative.



Eluru MP Kotagiri Sridhar has addressed a letter to the Railway Minister urging the sanctioning of the new railway line. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao personally met Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnav in New Delhi, presenting a memorandum and emphasising the project’s significance.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav responded positively, assuring MP GVL Narasimha Rao of prompt action and necessary steps for the construction of the proposed railway line. Highlighting the project’s financial viability, Narasimha Rao emphasised its potential benefits, including enhanced connectivity to upcoming traffic from the new Machilipatnam Port and coal fields in India.

గుంటూరు - గుంతకల్లు రైల్వే మార్గం పనులు సకాలంలో పూర్తికాక ప్రయాణికుల సహనానికి పరీక్ష పెడుతున్నాయి. ఓ వైపు గడువు ముగిసినా డబ్లింగ్‌ పూర్తికాకపోవడం.. మరోవైపు తాజాగా పాత ట్రాక్‌ను నవీకరిస్తుండటం వారిని నిరాశకు గురిచేస్తున్నాయి. ఇవన్నీ ఎప్పటికి కొలిక్కివస్తాయో..పూర్తిస్థాయిలో రైళ్లు ఎప్పుడు పరుగులు పెడతాయోనని వారు ఎదురుచూస్తున్నారు. పాత ట్రాక్‌ పనులంటూ పలు ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్‌లను రద్దు చేయడం ఇక్కడి వారికి శాపంగా మారింది.

గుంటూరు - గుంతకల్లు మార్గంలోని పాత పట్టాల తొలగింపు పనులు కంభం చెరువు ప్రాంతంలో సాగుతున్నాయి. పాత ట్రాక్‌ సుమారు 30 ఏళ్ల క్రితంది  కావడంతో దాన్ని తొలగిస్తున్నారు. దాంతో ఆ మార్గంలో రైళ్ల రాకపోకలు చాలా నెమ్మదిగా సాగుతున్నాయి. కంభం - జేబీకే పురం స్టేషన్ల నడుమ యంత్రాలతో పనులు చేస్తున్నారు. ఇది పూర్తయితే మరిన్ని కొత్త రైళ్లు నడిపే అవకాశముంటుందని ఆ శాఖ అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం పలు ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్‌లను  రద్దు చేయడంతో ప్రయాణికులు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు పడుతున్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా గుంటూరు - కాచిగూడ రైలు రద్దు కావడంతో మార్కాపురం, కంభం, గిద్దలూరు, దొనకొండ తదితర ప్రాంతాల ప్రజలు అవస్థలు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారు. బస్సుల్లో అధిక ఛార్జీలు ఉండడంతో ఇబ్బందికరంగా మారింది. పగటి వేళ గుంటూరు, విజయవాడ వైపు వెళ్లే రైళ్లు లేకపోవడంతో పశ్చిమ ప్రకాశం వాసులు అవస్థలు పడుతున్నారు. హైదరాబాద్‌, విజయవాడ వైపు       వెళ్లే మరికొన్ని ముఖ్యమైన రైళ్లను నడపాలని ప్రజలు కోరుతున్నారు.



సిమెంట్‌ కమ్మీలతో ట్రాక్‌ రూపొందిస్తున్న యంత్రం

త్వరలో గిద్దలూరు వరకూ డబ్లింగ్‌ పూర్తి..!

ఇక గుంటూరు- గుంతకల్లు రైల్వే మార్గంలో రెండో ట్రాక్‌, విద్యుదీకరణ పనులు కొనసాగుతున్నాయి. వీటికి 2016 -17లో శ్రీకారం చుట్టూరు. మొదట్లో 2021 నాటికి పూర్తి చేస్తామని గతంలో దక్షిణ మధ్య రైల్వే ఉన్నతాధికారులు చెప్పినా, ఇప్పటికీ కొనసాగుతూనే ఉన్నాయి. ఇవి ఎప్పటికి అవుతాయోనని ప్రజలు ఆశగా ఎదురుచూస్తున్నారు. గతేడాది బడ్జెట్‌లో రూ.803 కోట్ల నిధులు కేటాయించడంతో పనుల్లో కొంతమేర పురోగతి కనిపిస్తోంది. గుంటూరు నుంచి గుంతకల్లుకు రెండో రైల్వే లైన్‌ నిర్మించేందుకు సుమారు 405 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర పనులు చేయాల్సి ఉంది. మొత్తం 3,887 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో ప్రాజెక్టు నిర్మించేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం ముందుకొచ్చింది. ఇప్పటి వరకూ 281 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర పనులు పూర్తి చేశారు. త్వరలో జగ్గంబొట్లకృష్ణాపురం - గిద్దలూరు నడమ ఉన్న సుమారు 30 కిలో మీటర్ల మేర డబ్లింగ్‌ పనులు పూర్తి కానున్నాయి. దీంతో రెండో మార్గం గిద్దలూరు వరకూ అందుబాటులోకి రానుంది. దాంతో ప్రయాణ సమయం తగ్గుతుందని ప్రయాణికులు భావిస్తున్నారు. అమృత్‌ భారత్‌ స్టేషన్‌ పథకంలో భాగంగా దొనకొండ, మార్కాపురం, తదితర స్టేషన్లను అభివృద్ధి చేయనున్నారు. మెరుగైన సౌకర్యాలు కల్పించనున్నారు.

Today, Delhi: Central Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav revealed that the Andhra Pradesh government has not yet given the land required for the construction of the South Coast Railway Zone headquarters at Visakhapatnam. Are there any plans to officially launch South Coast Railway Zone? When did the construction of zonal headquarters start? When will it be finished? K. Rammohan Naidu in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. “Detailed Project Report (DPR) for South Coast Railway Zone has been prepared. We have sanctioned the construction works of Zonal Headquarters at an estimated cost of Rs.106.89 crores. We have allocated Rs.10 crore for this purpose in the financial year 2023-24. East Coast Railway Zone has been entrusted with the responsibility of preparing layout plan for land survey, zone headquarters complex, residential colony and other structures. In the DPR, we have proposed to construct the headquarters of this zone on 52.2 acres of land in Mudasarlova. As the Andhra Pradesh government has taken railway land for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has to hand over 52.2 acres of land in Mudasarlova to the Andhra Pradesh government. Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government has yet to identify suitable land for this and hand it over to the railway department. The Minister of Railways revealed that the permissions have been granted in April 2023 for the construction of 3 and 4 lines between Visakhapatnam Junction-Gopalapatnam for a distance of 15.31 km at a cost of Rs.159.47 crores.
