Amarkantak Express: Holy for Railfans as holy as Amarkantak is for devotees. - Ayan G

Some facts for you if you are not aware:
1. This train was started as LTT SBC express. Due to pressures, got extended to CBE. Dumb decision.
2. Along with this, another Mumbai Bangalore train via Hubli (Chalukya) got extended to TEN and PDY thrice week each.

2 trains. Now they are left with only one daily train Udyan express, a super super crawler.
4. There are 95 deluxe buses (private and government)operating in Mumbai Bangalore route. Means nearly 4000 persons travel daily. But railways have not felt any need to introduce any good convenient SF train.
5. To make things worse, LTT CBE was converted into almost AC train with LHB coaches, with no speed increase. It still takes 23 hours to reach from LTT to SBC (app. 1100 kms). This train Crawls in and Bangalore area stations for almost 2 to 3 hours, so that it can reach CBE after 0600.
6. Please note both SR and SWR are conveniently using this train as a ONT between
SBC CBE, instead of running their trains in this money spinning route.
7. If I need a ticket from Mumbai to Bangalore, almost impossible. So book upto Salem. Other way book from Hosur to Mumbai. Spoiling the chances of genuine Coimbatore passengers. TRE will make money by allowing my vacant seat to somebody else.
8. Both SR and CR together spoiled a good dedicated Mumbai Bangalore train. SWR as usual is in the grips of bus operators, and they have not felt a need to operate SWR train in this stretch.
9. You have mentioned that 4 airports are there in the route LTT CBE. In fact, 6 airports are there (Mumbai, Pune, Kalaburagi, Bangalore, Salem and Coimbatore). But what is the connectivity between these airports? Almost zero (Salem Pune or Kalaburagi Coimbatore etc).
10. What about public travelling between SUR/ KLBG/ WADI/ RC Stretch to SBC in day time? Should they spend 3A/ 2A fares as there is no other ICE running? They were traveling in SL till recently.

I am not against increase in AC coaches. Such moves should be done on routes which have multiple trains or by introducing new AC trains. For example, Instead of spoiling LTT CBE, if a new 12 AC Coach is introduced between SBC MUMBAI with limited stops at DMM GTL RC KLBG SUR PUNE only, covering the distance in 17 to 18 hours, it will do wonders.
