FalaknumaSF~ 4443 blog postsI've seen that the train boards mostly have Mangaluru in the name but the train announcements all throughout kerala refer to it as Mangalapuram. Can it be a local name for the city? It isn't official but many people do refer to it as Mangalapuram. What is the origin of this name?

No need to popularize Mangalore as Mangalapuram. Mangalore is known everywhere as Mangalore only , except in Kerala. So Malayalees to learn the correct name of the city as Mangalore.
