I have a question. This train originates from LJN(NER ZONE). Why its CDO is under LKO(NR)?

It originally ran from LKO (NR) and it's always been a train of CDO LKO. NR and NER agreed to send this train to LJN to ease congestion in LKO NR. Back then in return, Vaishali was shifted from LJN to LKO.

Received a SMS to check the timings of this train as they are revised from June 8.
I have my journey on July last week.
Is there any change in timings for this train?

Whilst the CNB-ALD section runs at/beyond capacity and the trend is similar for CNB-ON-LKO section; we have tracks running from Unnao-Sitapur which are woefully underutilized and see only a single pair of passenger train per day. Same is for the ON-RBL tracks which too has too little trains. IR ought to upgrade these sections both to benefit passengers on this route and exploring alternate routes.

It'll help connect CNB with STP more efficiently. Also, I find it ironical that Kanpur-Allahabad has an alternate route sitting right next to the main route that

is only ~14 km long. If that route is doubled and speeds upgraded, trains can easily find a way from CNB to ALD without choking on the main line.

Agree:💯💯 Totally
Many cities still have their old legacy still with them. If I am correct, it is still called "Bombay High Court" despite the name change done even earlier.

In Railways context, sometimes they change the name of the city but not the station code. I think Chennai still uses "MS" and "MAS" from it's Madras days. The oldest example I can think of is Kanpur having the station code "CNB", from when it was called "Cawnpore", which was really a long time ago.

Prayag as an alternative name for Allahabad is also old, I think. The Prayag station on LKO-PRYJ line is quite old and so was "Prayag Ghat" before it was renamed to "Prayagraj Sangam".

True. LKO NR is congested. During peak times, one can see trains regularly stranded on it's outers.IR is actually building a bypass line for trains coming from Sultanpur/Pratapgarh [they merge at a small station just before LKO] so that if they are going towards BE/MB, they can bypass LKO. There is a freight only station that has gotten 2 platforms now called "Transport Nagar" in Lucknow area. Currently, no such bypass trains run but some weeklies using the said route can/should be definitely diverted.

Yes totally agreed on all points the legacy has it and if these powerful legislatives wanted to change they would have done it long ago. One can still use the names.

Not just this blog but there were plenty of previous cases that we all saw the discussions on the nomenclatures still it goes on due to such seasonal sparks. 😂

Sir why I proposed that route is , Tirupati ko seedha Varanasi, Ayodhya ke liye connection milenge. Tirupati is lacking direct train to these both places for many days. Although SCR proposed TPTY BSBS , however other zones rejected it citing path constraints, and it will help passengers go to Naimisharanya too. Many Indians of South visit the above mentioned places sir

Don't reduce the AC coaches but remove the 2 parcel vans we will be left with just 18 LHB coaches then add three more SL and one GS. Also reduce the WL in SL class and convert the GS to 2S. RPF and TTEs to ensure strictly that WL and UR pax don't enter the fully reserved train thereafter.

Yes, this should have been implemented long back, atleast 15-18 years ago. Gradually they should have removed one by one, after each 3-4 years

Also things like LHB conversion, DFCs, doubling, tripling, quadrapling, new line projects which are implemented now should have been done long back but instead they focussed only on introducing new and new trains adding new category of trains without anyone giving a serious thought on capacity expansion. Also Railways should have gradually raised fares in SL and GS classes too in accordance with the inflation over the years. But they didn't do any unfortunately and we are in the mess now.

Sir,

In my opinion, UR & SL Coaches can also run at MPS of 130 KMPH.

Firstly, I am totally against the standardization happening at such a speedy rate. Please do not consider me as one who would support these things. This should have had been started long back to comply with the current scenario and also at a slow rate. In that case my support would have been to this concept. For that, it should have been done that every 2-3 years, one SL/GS is replaced by one other AC coach. Then today all this hue and cry would be out.

UR and SL coaches do 130

no doubt. But the air drag makes the acceleration difficult, these are from the technical POV. If we have to go beyond 130 kmph, we need to go for AC trains.
