There is no politics here, let understand rail map, Mysore is just 5 hrs bus journey from shornur, 3.5 hrs journey from Nilambur but how many hours it takes to reach Mysore from shornur, minimum 10 hours right. Let useless Kerala governments acquire land for Nilambur Batheri line that can be connected to Nanjangod near Mysore.

5 hrs from Shoranur? It takes atleast 3 hrs to reach Nilambur, then 1.5 hrs till Nadukani.. Then another 2.5-3 hours via Gudalur-Gundlupet. Total of 7-8 hours minimum (if in a KSRTC bus)..
And btw, Manorama aayakalam muthale MYS-KCVL paranjond irikuarnu.. Humsafar vannapo nirthi.. Ipo veendum kuthipokki.. Athanu sherikum nadannath.

There is no politics here. Inter zone/ division rivalry. Just see how SR treats SWR train from Bangalore to Mangalore. They say no PF and various other issues. When almost all trains starting from Mangalore to Kerala are from MAQ and not from MAJN, why can't they let one and only train from Bangalore to main station MAQ ? Why can't be little magnanimous? I feel till now, SWR were silent. Now they started same treatment for a PGT divn bound train. In fact, CAN express is a SWR train. In a way, this can build some pressure on PGT divn who use MAQ as a cleaning station of all Kerala trains.

It would be better if a new ERS to MYS train runs via SRR, MAQ, HAS be introduced instead of asking for extension of 16527/28. Timings can be say 1430 at ERS, 2130 at MAQ, 0600 at MYS. Return can be 2000 at MYS, 0530 at MAQ, 1200 at ERS. Entire Malabar region will get connected to MYS.

Don't propose all such extensions. It would be better to have a train from Kerala to Bangalore, Mysore and then to Mangalore. Say something like TVC ERS PGT CBE SA HSRA SBC MYS HAS and termination at MAQ. Something similar to Amrutha express TVC MDU via Kottayam Ernakulam Palakkad Palani. No PF issues anywhere in SWR as all maintenance will be at SR station only.

If kcvl train terminates at Bangalore, we will get odd timings. It would be better if it goes to SR somewhere. Even a Kannur Chennai express via MAJN, Hassan, Mysore, Bangalore, Katpadi.
Existing kcvl UBL was originally proposed via Kerala, MAJN, Hassan. But not succeeded. Similarly, MAQ Hyb express was proposed via Hassan Chitradurga Ballari. This also failed.

Yeah.. TVC did a good thing.. As RCF didnt even manufacture any Pantry Cars for SR this year, chances of Kerala getting LHB is very bleak now. But since BAND HS (which may come or not) may not require a PC, and one LHB rake is lying idle at IPL with adequate no. Of coaches, TVC can include that PC and make Kerala LHBfy atleast one rake.

TVC can induct these Utkrist rakes to TVC-VRL and GIMB-NCJ which have similar coach composition..

But i guess the biggest challenge with one rake of LHB will be the change in seating numbers to be done in the reservation system. The pre-defined quota for tatkal, RL, Pooled quota all will have to be redone. Of course if they dont do any thing it will still work as LHB will have more seats in any case. But yes rather than letting the rakes lie idle and getting spoilt it can be tried for one rake at least
